ACTING WITH VISION…

FOR THE FUTURE SECURITY OF MEBA

MEBA divider small

MEBA is a pioneer in the field of band sawing machines: since 1958, the company has specialized exclusively in this technology, contributing to significant developments in the industry.

Numerous product developments, construction measures as well as systematic restructuring across all company divisions characterize the continuous development from an artisan-run business to an internationally operating medium-sized industrial company. Ongoing projects to increase efficiency and digitization as well as the expansion of sales activities on international markets are difficult to put into annual figures. They continuously accompanied MEBA’s corporate history. The service has been consistently internationalized over the years. With our global dealer network and our own subsidiaries in Romania and on the subcontinent of India, we are underpinning the further expansion of our company’s innovative strength and the overriding goal of sustainable future security.

MEBArobots

2020

Robot-assisted sawing for any size operation. As a logical consequence of automation and strong customer orientation, robotic systems equipped with know-how specifically geared to sawing applications were created more than a decade ago. From now on, MEBArobots are available as standard for all series. Small and craft businesses can also easily get started with automation. MEBArobots brings higher productivity, more flexibility and compensation for the shortage of skilled workers to any size of operation.
Carsten Oberwelland

2018

Carsten Oberwelland joins the MEBA management. With Carsten Oberwelland joining the management of MEBA, the power in the direction of digitalization, product management and internationalization is significantly increased. On the path to digitization, a company's product range is changing from a product provider to a service provider. This development in particular will also be driven forward from now on.
Thin-cut technology

2017

First high-performance saw with thin-cutting technology. In cooperation with the companies Günther + Schramm and Wikus, MEBA launches the first high-performance bandsaw with thin-cutting technology. The lighthouse project of the three partners enables fast and efficient sawing for diameters of 130-300 mm and ensures massive cost savings.
MEBAconnect

2016

The move into digitization marks another milestone for the company. Under the heading MEBAconnect, the company bundles its activities on the topic of digitalization and networked sawing. MEBA is developing the first smart, sensible and feasible solutions. MEBA is convinced: Digitization should bring added value to everyone, whether individual entrepreneurs or large-scale industry.
Competence Award

2012

First sawing machine to run entirely on electric drives receives competence award. With MEBAe-cut, the company is launching the first high-performance bandsaw that operates entirely via electric drives, for the good of our environment, for the good of our resources, and for the good of quality. For this, the state of Baden-Württemberg honors MEBA with the "Competence Award for Innovation and Quality".
Federal Award

2011

MEBA is awarded federal prize. MEBA receives the "Federal Award for Outstanding Innovative Achievements for the Trade" for the saw-drill-measuring center MEBApro 260 GP / CREA DRILL. The compact high-tech helper combines economical sawing, drilling and measuring, even for individual parts and small batch sizes, thus enabling efficient production even for smaller companies and the skilled trades.
Company expansion

2009

Company expansion of MEBA, Lean Production. MEBA opens the extension of a production hall in Westerheim with a new machining center, the development department as the centerpiece and a new training workshop for qualified junior staff. The new customer service center is opened on the MEBA site as a central point of contact. After many years of project work and coaching to increase efficiency, MEBA is now producing lean.
Portel technology

2008

European patent for MEBA portal technology. With a revolutionary sawing concept, MEBA turns conventional sawing technology on its head and offers steel construction previously unattainable advantages over conventional systems. The new gantry design fundamentally simplifies the transport and handling of material.
Reservoir hydraulics

2006

Energy-efficient accumulator hydraulics for the entire product range. From now on, all MEBA machines will be equipped with accumulator hydraulics, making them the most energy-efficient bandsaws in the industry.
MEBAsteel

2003 - 2004

MEBAsteel large band saws and integration in Peddinghaus saw-drill lines. For the heaviest materials and fast processing of sawing tasks, the MEBAsteel large bandsaw is launched on the market. MEBA is increasingly moving away from being a manufacturer of individual saws towards complete plant engineering. This development culminates in a partnership with Peddinghaus Corporation. Since then, MEBAsteel saws have become an integral part of powerful and efficient saw-drill rigs of the German-American machine builder.
Mark Diener

2003

Mark Diener joins MEBA as managing partner. With Mark Diener joining the management of MEBA, the next generation secures the future of the company. In order to defend MEBA's top position in the strong, international competitive field, the company's management decides on a sustainable change process: towards lean management and a customer-focused orientation.
Servo ball screw technology

2001 - 2004

New servo ball screw technology for material and saw feed. MEBA implements new servo-controlled ball screw technology for material and saw feed in bandsaw machines and brings it into series production. This can take cutting performance and cut quality to the next level.
Double miter principle

1991

MEBA receives patent for the in-house developed double miter principle. The unique miter suspension above the material brings previously unattained advantages: larger swivel range, material flow direction on both sides, material clamping always at 90° and virtually no residual pieces.
Industry novelty

1985

Industry first: first fully enclosed automatic sawing machine. The entry into automation marks a milestone for MEBA. MEBA is the first manufacturer in the industry to launch a fully enclosed automatic bandsaw. It ensures safe and clean automatic operation.
Takeover

1982

Eberhard Diener takes over MEBA. With the takeover of shares of the company MEBA by Eberhard Diener, the complete move to Westerheim takes place. Administration and manufacturing are merged. This is followed by the rebuilding of the company, structurally and financially. In 1990, the remaining shares of a British investment and engineering company pass into the ownership of the Diener family. This step also documents the sustained confidence in band saw technology and in the further development of MEBA as a pacesetter in the industry. The product portfolio is being consistently expanded.
Founding

1958

MEBA Metall-Bandsägemaschinen GmbH has its origins in Esslingen am Neckar. As early as the beginning of the 1960s, the production site in Westerheim in the Swabian Alb is opened. First, a simple series of machines is designed and manufactured.
